The Team

MSV Duisburg, founded in 1902, is one of Germany's traditional clubs and was a founding member of the Bundesliga in 1963. Its greatest success was second place in the first Bundesliga season. In the 1970s, MSV reached the DFB Cup semi-finals several times, but repeatedly struggled with financial and sporting setbacks. Today, the club plays in the Regionalliga and remains a symbol of passion and perseverance in football for its loyal fans.

Since the early 1960s, our MSV has played its home games in Duisburg-Wedau. Since 2005, the MSV Duisburg Arena has stood on this site as the successor to the venerable Wedaustadion. The arena was completed after two years of construction. Since then, promotions have been celebrated, parties have been held and relegations have been mourned here. If the walls and seats of the stadium could talk, they would tell of the Bundesliga promotion in 2005, the victorious DFB Cup semi-final in 2011 or the re-promotion in 2015.
